Description
UsesItraconazole is indicated for the treatment of dermatophytosis caused by Microsporum canis in cats. In dogs, it can be used to treat systemic mycoses. In horses, it may be useful in the treatment of sporotrichosis, and Coccidioides immitis osteomylitis.
Possible Side EffectsPlease contact your veterinarian if any of the following adverse reactions occur: salivation, vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, depression, and apathy.
Drug & Food InteractionsTalk to your veterinarian about any other drugs your pet is taking before starting this medication, including but not limited to amphotericin b, antacids, benzodiazepines, buspirone, busulfan, calcium-channel blocking agents, ciprofloxacin, cisapride, colchicine.
PrecautionsDo not administer to animals with hypersensitivity to itraconazole.
This drug is FDA-approved for human use. However, it is common practice for veterinarians to prescribe such drugs for use in dogs and cats.
